Tennent’s Women’s National Leagues Preview | 24 & 25 September

As another weekend of Women's Premiership and National 1 gets started, here is everything you need to know about this weekend's action.

Tennent’s Women’s Premiership

Just two fixtures play out this weekend in the Tennent’s Women’s Premiership, here’s everything you need to know.

An Edinburgh derby match gets things underway on Saturday as Heriot’s Blues welcome Watsonians to Goldenacre.

Watsonians are currently top of the table having won two of their three fixtures played so far, whilst Heriot’s will be looking to bounce back after last weekend’s 17-24 loss against Cartha Queens Park.

Blues’ Head Coach, Lucy Brown said: “Last week was a tough one to take losing in the final minutes of the game, but with a number of players unavailable we managed to get some players the opportunity to showcase what they can bring to the table, and we still came away with a bonus point.

“This week will be another challenge as we know what Watsonians can bring, but it’s a challenge I’m sure the squad will embrace. We have Lucy Winters available this week, who’s an exciting player, as well as some players returning, with more opportunities for the young players to really showcase more of their talent really highlighting the depth we have within the squad.

“It’ll be a big day for the club with the Super6 side playing beforehand on the main pitch, which is a great thing to be a part of.”
