Female Coach Development Fund

Scottish Rugby is launching the new Female Coach Development Fund for the 2026/27 season. The fund is designed to help increase the number of female coaches in the club game in Scotland and improve the coach development support they receive.

Working collaboratively with clubs, Scottish Rugby aims to help clubs create positive environments where female coaches can gain experience and hone their coaching craft. Increasing female representation within coaching environments will help create more diverse clubs, while providing aspiring coaches with clear opportunities to develop and progress. Rather than focusing solely on recruitment, the fund aims to support coaches on a long term journey through education, mentoring, networking and practical coaching experiences.

The vision of this fund is to continue to develop a thriving community of confident, competent and supported female coaches who inspire the next generation of players.

The Female Coach Development Fund is a two-year funding model, supporting up to 15 clubs across Scotland. Each successful club will be eligible to receive a maximum of £3,000 per season, providing up to £6,000 in total funding over the two-year period.

Applications are now open for this fund and will close on Sunday 15 November.
