After a succession of carries, Wales are awarded the penalty five metres out in front of the posts. They opt for the three points, giving them a five point lead with seven to go.
Meryl Smith comes off, and Beth Blacklock is on for a second cap.
Coreen Grant and Lyndsay O’Donnell come off, and Liz Musgrove and Eva Donaldson come on.
Again, it’s phase after phase of direct rugby from Wales. They get up to our five metre line, but there’s a knock on.

Smith takes the ball from the scrum in midfield, and gives it to Nelson. Grant was sprinting in from the right hand side, and took the ball at full speed to run under the posts.

Lana Skeldon grabbed Scotland’s only try of the half after a powerful maul from the forwards.

Great carries from Skeldon, Gallagher and Christine Belisle, and Wales are penalised for not rolling away just five metres from their line.
Helen Nelson will have a shot at goal.
The lineout leads to a maul, which gets close. After some pick and goes from the forwards, Harries goes over.
But we’re looking at a potential offside in the last phase…
Harries is adjudged to have been in front of the ball when she grabbed it out of the ruck, and Scotland will have the penalty.
As the crowds blows a sigh of relief, Scotland exit to just inside their 10m line.

It’s rolled out nicely into the 22, and Scotland will have the lineout!
