One from one

Late tackle

Late tackle in midfield from Hurd. Italy into the right corner as we play the final minute.

78

Knock on

Another important ball-dislodger from Scotland and we get a scrum seven metres from our line. A brief heart-stopper for Scotland fans as the referee awards an Italy penalty before remembering the knock-on advantage!

72

Offside; change on the wing

Italy’s best phaseplay of the match so far by a mile, and they get to the line where Kinghorn strays offside in the tackle.

Kicked into the left corner. Darcy Graham comes off, and on goes Kyle Rowe.

69

Not rolling; prop swap

Horne’s clearance is charged down, but Scotland regather and Negri doesn’t roll from the tackle.

Scotland lineout just inside Italy’s half as Will Hurd replaces Zander Fagerson.

67

HAT-TRICK HUWRO!

IT’S THAT MAN AGAIN!

We go left from the scrum and Graham is stopped five metres short. It goes back across to the right where Jones has two men to beat, and he gets past them both and stretches for the line. Conversion missed.

Scotland 31-19 Italy

65

Graham nearly through again

A knock on from Italy is gathered by Graham who charges down the right before being stopped, and he knocks it on himself.

Advantage ends with an Italy kick, we kick it back and Italy knock on once more.

Scotland scrum, just outside Italy’s 22.

62

HUW’LL NEVER BELIEVE IT!

Jones is in again!

From the scrum we decide to play from deep, getting it out to Graham on the right. Darcy does ever so well to cut inside and charge through a gap, and finds Jones on his outside for a second score today and the bonus point. Russell converts.

Scotland 26-19 Italy

58

Free kick and grubber through

Italy get the free kick and grubber through. It goes out deep in our 22 on our left.

Knock on; three more changes

As Scotland knock on right on the halfway line, Gray, White and McDowall and replaced by Gregor Brown, George Horne and Tom Jordan.

Good response

Up the jumper from the forwards, a half-break from Graham and Italy go off their feet.

Into the right corner.

47

Italy interception try

What a gift. Italy level from nowhere.

Russell’s delays in midfield and when he eventually tries to find Jones, Garbisi is there to pick it off and run it in from halfway. Allan converts.

Scotland 19-19 Italy.

45

Allan’s good again

Scotland 19-12 Italy

44

Italy jackal penalty

Matt Fagerson absolutely smashed in his own half, then the jackal penalty is won. They’re going for goal from around 43m out in front of the posts.

43

Darcy nearly through

The forwards showing the backs they’re not the only ones who can manage intricate handling!

Zander to Gilchrist to Schoeman and the prop makes ten metres. Russell then tries the inside pass to Graham who would be away if he caught it, but it goes forward. Kick tennis then ensues, and Italy put it out inside their own half.

Scotland a bit uncreative there and Italy work out the pick and go pattern and get the jackal penalty.

They kick down to their own 10m line.

33

Scotland scrum five metres out!

Capuozzo can’t gather a pass in midfield and Finn “Messi” Russell volleys with his left foot.

Russell kicks to just outside the 22.

13

Italy scrum

First scrum. Menoncello through the middle but his pass goes loose. Schoeman can’t gather and it goes forward.

11

Close escape…

Menoncello’s grubber takes an awkward kick to evade Russell, but luckily it rolls into touch five metres out.

9

Shuggyyyyyyyy!!!

We’re in again!
