Fixtures released for 2024-2025 club rugby season
Edinburgh Academical host Hawick RFC in the 2024-2025 Men’s Premiership opening weekend, repeating this season’s Scottish Cup final classic. Meanwhile, 2023-2024 men’s champions Currie Chieftains begin their title defence with a trip to Ayr RFC.
And Stirling County begin their own title defence in the Women’s Premiership away against Heriot’s.
Scottish Rugby has today announced the full fixtures list for the 2024-2025 Women’s and Men’s Premiership seasons, as well as National Leagues 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Regional Leagues 1, 2, 3 and 4. Reserves leagues and youth club fixtures have also been announced.
The Women’s Premiership will begin on Saturday 24 August – a week earlier than the men’s competitions, as has become customary in recent times, to ensure the normal season is completed in December. This allows for the Cup competitions to kick off in the new year, after the completion of the league competitions.
The top men’s competitions will once again run concurrently with some Cup competitions, such as the Scottish Cup and Inter-District Championship, seeing their normal season finish in April 2025.
The 2024 FOSROC Super Series Championship will not be played, at the end of the 2024 FOSROC Super Series Sprint, FOSROC Super Series rugby will conclude. The Premiership will be the top level of male club rugby in Scotland.
Scottish Rugby’s Director of Rugby Development, Gav Scott said:
“The 2023-2024 season was one to remember and although we’re closing that particular chapter now, we are already looking forward to domestic rugby getting back underway in a couple of months.
“There are some really exciting matchups in the first few weeks there and we’ll be keenly watching those moving into new divisions this year as the competitions progress,” he said.
The full list of fixtures for the 2024-2025 season are now live in the Club Rugby section of the Fixtures and Results tab of the Scottish Rugby website.
