Godman Helps Scotland A Win
Edinburgh stand-off Phil Godman contributed 12 points as Scotland A sailed to victory over Italy in Venice with Ross Rennie and Ben Cairns both scoring tries in the process. Scotland A, co-coached by Andy Robinson and Sean Lineen, strolled to a win with an impressive collective display and the Edinburgh contingent played an influential role.Godman, 25, kicked three conversions and two penalties as the new-look squad, which_also included Calum MacRae, John Houston, Craig Smith and Craig Hamilton,_got off to a winning start.Robinson said: It was a good performance. We started well but seemed to let them back into the game just after half time.’the application and ambition shown by the players was really pleasing. We managed our game well.It wasn’t a perfect performance but the spirit of the team’s involvement, from the management team to the players, has been very encouraging.
