Houston Joins Scotland 7s For Dubai And South Africa

Scotland 7s will travel to Dubai and South Africa for the next two legs of the HSBC Sevens World Series on Sunday (25 November) with experienced Edinburgh Rugby centre, John Houston among the 12-strong playing party.The team will also include Glasgow Warriors EDP, James Johnstone, the Currie centre and Colin Gregor resumes his role as captain. James Fleming who currently leads the 2012/13 HSBC Sevens World Series try table, with eight, will also travel.Head coach, Phil Greening, said: “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Edinburgh Rugby and bring a experienced and very physical sevens player into our squad.”James [Johnstone] also has a lot of talent and we believe him being back in the international sevens environment will be good for his development as a player. Thank you to both pro-clubs for their support.Houston is a seasoned sevens campaigner having represented Scotland at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and more recently in the two closing legs of the 2011/12 HSBC Sevens World Series, in Glasgow and London.Scotland 7s take on Kenya (10.12am local time), Fiji (1.36pm local time) and Spain (5pm local time) in next weekend’s tournament (Friday 30 November and Saturday 1 December) in Pool A. Dubai is four hours ahead of the United Kingdom.Greening continued: “No match or group is easy on this circuit, we know Kenya, Fiji and Spain will be a huge challenge.
