Jed-Forest festival lands blockbuster headliners
A Borders rugby club is celebrating the fifth year of its music festival, which helps to boost club funds and raise money for worthy causes, with a line-up that includes legendary glam rockers.
Jed-Forest’s Riverside Rock will be headlined by The Sweet with pop-rock band the Hoosiers and tribute act Chasing Mumford also on the bill.
The festival is run on a purely voluntary basis with members of Jed-forest and neighbouring clubs pitching in to ensure its success.
All profits from the festival are invested back into the club enabling them to develop the club’s infrastructure and improve facilities for players, staff and supporters.
The first four years of the festival raised £15,000 for a number of charities and this year will support the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in raising funds to aid research into Motor Neurone Disease.
More than 2,000 revelers from across the UK are expected to visit the family-friendly festival which will welcome campers for the very first time.
In its first year Riverside Rock kicked-off with 1,250 festival-goers and has grown year-on-year, now adding 50 per cent to the town’s population on the day.
