Scottish Rugby is saddened to learn of the death of former Scotland internationalist John Hart. He was 79. A wing, capped out of London Scottish against South Africa at Murrayfield in 1951, he also played club rugby for Watsonians and Edinburgh University.Scottish Rugby is saddened to learn of the death of former Scotland internationalist John Hart. He was 79. A wing, capped out of London Scottish against South Africa at Murrayfield in 1951, he also played club rugby for Watsonians and Edinburgh University. A talented athlete, Hart represented Great Britain as a hurdler in 1946 and 1949 and competed for Scotland at the Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 in the 440 yards hurdles. He went on to become a distinguished rugby administrator, serving as secretary of the International Rugby Board from 1971-1986. Scottish Rugby extends its sincere condolences to Mr Hart’s family and friends.
