Lucky 13 Called Up For Scotland
Captain Mike Blair is one of 13 Edinburgh players named in Scotland’s 33-man squad for the forthcoming RBS 6 Nations match against Wales (Sunday 8 February, kick off 3pm, for tickets call 0871 200 1511) including uncapped prop Geoff Cross. The figure potentially could have been even bigger, but lock Matt Mustchin (ankle) and flanker Ross Rennie (knee) were both ruled out of contention after undergoing surgery over recent weeks. In the back division, scrum half Blair is joined by six Edinburgh team-mates, Phil Godman, Simon Webster, Nick De Luca, Ben Cairns, Chris Paterson and Hugo Southwell. In the pack, Cross will be contesting for a spot with fellow prop Allan Jacobsen, hooker Ross Ford, locks Jim and Craig Hamilton and back rower Allister Hogg.Meanwhile, Glasgow youngster Ruaridh Jackson has been added and there are seven former Edinburgh players in the squad, Rory Lawson, Alasdair Dickinson, Dougie Hall, Nathan Hines, Alastair Kellock, Alasdair Strokosch and Simon Taylor.
