They left it late, but Scotland backed up their win against England last weekend with another, albeit late, win in Cardiff to retain the Doddie Weir Cup.
George Turner’s late try, adding to earlier counters by Kyle Steyn, Finn Russell and Darcy Graham, with three further conversion by Russell, got them over the line.

They’ve done it! Scotland have the breakthrough! It’s George Turner who finishes a textbook line-out maul, his side getting the reward for passing up the three points. Russell lands a tidy conversion and the visitors have the lead!

Patient play from Scotland’s forwards, going forward an inch or so with each phase, before the backs get it and Russell ghosts through and converts it himself.

Another easy three points coming up for Wales, the penalty in the 22 and in front.
Misplaced passes, and no penetration. Eventually Smith wins the jackal penalty.

Another awry lineout and a dropped box kick, but then we hold firm and Darge wins the jackal penalty.
We kick to just inside Wales’ 10.

A loud reception at Principality Stadium as the teams go in at the break, and it isn’t for Scotland.
We go in twelve points down.
Tuipulotu, Kinghorn and White combine up the right, but Adams fields the scrum-half’s grubber and the ruck is a mess.

Steyn gets to five metres out up the side of a midfield ruck, but the next phase isn’t good and Matt Fagerson holds on at the breakdown.

Wales get to the line and win the penalty for offside before dropping the ball.

Costelow with a really smart kick into the corner.

White’s box kick after the restart finds touch on halfway.

From the lineout we go left to right, with the miss pass from Russell finding Kinghorn in space. He draws in the last man and finds Steyn on the right wing, who dives over in the corner. Conversion from Russell on the touchline goes wide.

We break up the left through Huw Jones and Steyn, but Carre wins it back on the ground and Williams finds touch just inside his own 22.
Wales steal the lineout and then win a penalty, which is tapped and ran with James breaking on the right.
They then win another penalty on the five metre line, and Carre wrestles over. Costelow converts.
Wales 7-0 Scotland
Kyle Steyn halted a metre short, then White tries to find Duhan van der Merwe on the left wing but Adams grabs it from the sky.
Wales then find touch just over 35m from their line.
Yep, no arguing about that. Hawkins heads to the sin bin, and the FPRO will review it.
Finn kicks the penalty into the right corner.
