Despite meeting at three Rugby World Cups (1998, 2002, 2021) and in the previous WXV tournament, this is the first time these two teams have played each other in Scotland.
This is the last of the three major Tests at Hive Stadium in this inaugural year of the new WXV Global Series, the new tournament that sees the top 12 teams in the world competing home-and-away over two seasons around the September/October international window. The last time they met was in the 2024 WXV2 Final in Cape Town, when the Wallaroos edged out reigning champions Scotland 31-22 in an eight-try thriller.
Scotland winger Rhona Lloyd makes a typical break against Australia at the 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
