2020 Autumn Tests timings confirmed

5 Feb 2020

Scotland will face the All Blacks in a spectacular evening fixture at BT Murrayfield in November as final details of the 2020 Autumn Tests have now been confirmed.

Tickets for the 2020 Autumn Test series which will see Scotland also play Rugby World Cup 2019 opponents Japan and Argentina, as well as New Zealand, have been snapped up by fans.

Almost 8,000 three-match 2020 Autumn Test Packages went on sale in December and sold out within an hour and there will a further sale of 2020 Autumn Test Packages in early May.

With BT Murrayfield already a 67,000 sell-out for the eagerly anticipated 2020 Calcutta Cup match against England this weekend in the Guinness Six Nations, tickets to see Scotland play at home this year are moving fast.

With the dates and kick-off times now confirmed plans are already underway for some special match-day activations for fans with improved fanzone activities and the highly anticipated fan-favourite BT Murrayfield ‘lights-out’ for the All Back game.

The three-game series begins against Argentina on Saturday 7 November with a 3.15pm kick-off.

The 2020 Autumn Test opener against the Pumas will be the 19th meeting between the teams with Scotland having won the last five encounters – the 2016 win sandwiched by home-and-away doubles in 2014 and 2018.

Scotland will then face Japan on Saturday 14 November at 1pm, with the visitors in need of no introduction after the unforgettable RWC 2019 Pool A decider in Yokohama. It will be an opportunity to see how the Brave Blossoms have progressed a year on from their World Cup heroics.

The Autumn Tests conclude with a visit of the New Zealand All Blacks which will get underway at 5.30pm and will be the first meeting between the sides since 2017, when Scotland narrowly lost 17-22 to the then number one ranked side.

Speaking at the confirmation of the 2020 Autumn Tests last November Scotland Head Coach, Gregor Townsend said: “Representing your country is the pinnacle of the sport and in 2020 we will have opportunities to pit ourselves against some of the world’s leading teams.

“To host Argentina, Japan and New Zealand at BT Murrayfield following our games against England and France in the Six Nations provides fantastic challenges which we look forward to seeing our players embrace.”

Scottish Rugby Chief Operating Officer, Dominic McKay said: “We have been blown away by the amazing response to putting the 2020 Autumn Tests on sale nearly a year in advance and would like to thank our fans for their incredible support.

“The work being put in across the organisation to make a day at BT Murrayfield one to remember continues and we want the 2020 Autumn Tests to be great occasions on and off the pitch, to build on our run of 15 sell-out matches in recent years.”

The next round of tickets go on sale in May. Three-match packages start at £59 for adults (an average of under £20 per game) and there will be further ticket options made available later in the spring, including the popular “Kids for £1” for the Argentina and Japan games (one U12 ticket for £1 per paying adult).

In addition, the Groups & Schools Offer will be in operation at all three games, with the group rate of £10-£15 for children plus two free adult tickets per group, and discounted additional adult tickets.

All three Autumn Tests are included in the 2020/21 Scotland Season Pass. Fans with the current pass will have the opportunity to secure entry to the 2020 Autumn Tests and 2021 Guinness Six Nations games when Season Pass renewals start at the end of February.
