Scotland dominated the first half with excellent play through the backs from Godman and stand out centre Ben Cairns. The second half saw a spirited fight Argentine fight back but a hard working Scotland defence saw out the tie to seal the fantastic win. Scotland got off to the best possible start with the trusted boot of Paterson putting the Scots 6-0 up after 20 minutes. Paterson added the extras to a Ross Ford try two minutes later and capped the half off with his fourth successful kick of the afternoon and his 40th successive kick in a Scotland jersey. Half time: 0-16 Scotland started the second half as they did the first with Paterson placing the ball effortlessly through the sticks from a penalty to extend the lead. A ruthless Argentine fight back eventually led to their first score of the afternoon when, after a series of pick and goes on the Scot’s five metre line, Lobbe found himself mismatched against winger Chris Paterson and powered over. Todeschini added the extras. Argentina continued their ruthless approach at the breakdown but substitute Dan Parks spotted a telegraphed pass and stepped into the gap to snatch an interception. The Warriors 10 sprinted the length of the half before lobbing a pass over two Argentines to find Morrison in support to cross under the post. Paterson’s kick recaptured Scotland’s 16 point lead, 26-7. Argentina grabbed a consolation try in the dying seconds. Todeschini’s converted to the sound of the final whistle.
