Beach rugby to hit Turnberry’s shores again

Beach rugby will return to the sandy shores of Turnberry this summer for the second annual Turnberry Beach Rugby Tournament.Some 18 teams will turnout for the family friendly weekend that will take place between Friday 5 and Sunday 7 July.Local band ESCAPADE will begin proceedings at 7.30pm on the Friday night before the rugby kicks off at 1.30pm on the Saturday.Event organiser and Ayr rugby player, Andrew Dunlop, said: “Last year’s inaugural tournament drew hundreds to this beautiful beach setting.”We encourage players to bring their family and friends to enjoy local cuisine, fast-paced and exciting rugby, and live music.A campsite is available from£10 per person for the weekend with full use of the facilities or day entry on Saturday from just£2.Entry into the Marquee at night is just£5 and free to campers!Lions BreakfastFurthrmore, for just£10 on Saturday 6 July a Lions breakfast will take place for the third test in Australia, in the marquee.For more information on the tournament or Lions breakfast contact, [email protected] or LIKE them on Facebook.To watch a promo video for the weekend visit, www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjy-OPtvXzQ&feature=youtu.be
