Celtic Park will be perfect setting for Guinness PRO14 Final

Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland football legend Sir Kenny Dalglish believes Celtic Park will be the perfect setting for this year’s Guinness PRO14 Final.
History will be made in Glasgow on May 25 when the Guinness PRO14’s showpiece event, which has attracted a record attendance three years in a row, will be held outside of a traditional rugby venue for the first time.
The Championship-decider is also returning to Scotland for the first time since 2016 and could see a home favourite contest the title if Warriors progress to the final.
Only Ulster stand in the way of Dave Rennie’s men in the last four and Dalglish admits it would be a huge bonus if Glasgow can overcome the final hurdle between them and the final.
“I think it’s an indication of the strides forward Warriors have made that they have got the interest in rugby in Glasgow that would warrant bringing the final here,” he said.
“If Glasgow can get there, then that’s an added bonus for everybody. A rugby match at Celtic Park, which has seen many nights of glory and success; I think it’s a fantastic venue for rugby.
“It’s great for football so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be fantastic for rugby as well. It’s a great city if you want to come and enjoy yourself.
“So a rugby final coming here to Celtic Park will be very well-received by the Glaswegians and they do like a little celebration themselves.
“If they have something to celebrate, they’ll be even more welcoming. The boys that have got there for the club know they have got tremendous support here.
“The support of the fans has been good enough to get them this far, so hopefully they can get there [to the final] and get over the line.”
The Guinness PRO14 Final is one of the most entertaining games in the rugby calendar and takes place in Glasgow’s Celtic Park on May 25. Tickets start at just £25 for adults, £1 for kids. Visit www.pro14rugby.org/finaltickets
