Through an online form, we asked supporters to vote for who they thought deserved a place in the FOSROC Super Series Fan’s Team of the Sprint – and the results are in.

1 – Andrew Nimmo (Ayrshire Bulls)

Andrew Nimmo is the first to secure his spot in the Fan’s Team of the Sprint. The Bulls front row player was a powerhouse in every scrum and helped his team against many strong counterparts.

2  – Grant Stewart (Ayrshire Bulls)

The position of hooker goes to Grant Stewart. Scoring the most tries for the Ayrshire Bulls (seven in total), it’s no surprise the he secured his spot in this team thanks to his incredible performance through the Sprint.

3 – Euan McLaren (Heriot’s Rugby)

It was a close final result, but ultimately Heriot’s Euan McLaren takes home the tighthead prop position. His strong positioning in scrums throughout the Sprint not only earned him his place in this list but also the Commentator’s Team of the Sprint.

4 – Charlie Jupp (Heriot’s Rugby)

First to secure a spot in the second row is Heriot’s Charlie Jupp. Starting in all seven matches across the Sprint, he was a reliable player for his team through his strength and determination to make every play a challenge for his opposition.

5 – Jamie Berrisford (Watsonians)

It was another close result in the votes, but it’s Watsonians Jamie Berrisford who joins Charlie Jupp in the second row. His excellent ball carrying skills across the Sprint earned his team points on more than one occasion and rightly earned him his place in the Fan’s Team of the Sprint.

6 – Ryan Sweeney (Ayrshire Bulls)

Another Bulls player joins the team with Ryan Sweeney taking the blindside flanker position. As a hugely influential player in the breakdown, it’s no wonder he also secured his spot in the Commentators’ Team of the Sprint.

7 – Iain Wilson (Heriot’s Rugby)

The top try scorer of the Sprint needs no introduction as Iain Wilson secures his spot in both the Fan’s and the Commentators’ Team of the Sprint. The seven tries under his belt is not the only reason, as Wilson’s ability to read the play well and lead his team to many wins makes him a fantastic addition to the team.

8 – Blair Macpherson (Ayrshire Bulls)

It should come as no surprise that Blair Macpherson secured the number eight jersey in both the Fan’s Team of the Sprint and the Commentator’s Team of the Sprint after his outstanding performance. The Ayrshire Bull’s Captain started in every game this Sprint and his consistency and outstanding leadership qualities led Bulls to victory.

9 – Ruairidh Swan (Boroughmuir Bears)

As a familiar name throughout the FOSROC Super Series Sprint, it should come as no surprise that the scrum-half bagged this position in both the Fan’s and Commentators’ Team of the Sprint. Swan’s stellar performance across the Sprint, through his pace and tactical play were fundamental for his team throughout the Series.

10 – Jason Baggott (Watsonians)

Jason Baggott from Watsonians is the Fan’s choice for the fly-half, a sentiment echoed in the Commentator’s Team of the Sprint. Baggott accumulated 48 points across the Sprint, the highest points earner for Watsonians due to his quick eye for gaps and his reliability from the kicking tee.

11 – Joe Jenkins (Boroughmuir Bears)

Joe Jenkins from Boroughmuir Bears is chosen to wear the left-wing jersey. Jenkins is a player with incredible pace starting in all seven matches for the Bears and was selected by Fan’s no doubt for his consistent approach throughout games and his quick thinking of the oppositions play.

12 – Grant Hughes (Heriot’s Rugby)

Hughes is another to gain a starting jersey in both the Fan’s and Commentators’ Team of the Sprint due to his consistency throughout the Sprint Series. Hughes is a threat to any opposition as his skill on both sides of the ball make him a dominant force in every game.

13 – Jamie Shedden (Ayrshire Bulls)

Joining Grant Hughes at outside centre is Ayrshire Bulls Jamie Shedden. Scoring six tries for the Bulls, Shedden’s formidable force on the pitch makes him a worthy choice for the number thirteen jersey.

14 – Luca Bardelli (Ayrshire Bulls)

The young winger’s first appearance in the Super Series tournament was one to remember as he started in all seven matches scoring a total of four tries for Bulls. His footwork and fast pace makes him an imperative member of his team.

15 – Elias Caven (Ayrshire Bulls)

Rounding off the team in the full-back position is Bulls’ Eli Caven. His strength across the Sprint is reflected in the 39 points he accrued for his team. Thanks to his ability to finds gaps in the opposition defence to score and his strong kicking game, Eli has earned a spot in both the Fan’s and Commentators’ Team of the Sprint.
