Comments from the Coaches:

Nikki Walker (Watsonians) said:

“We were disappointed with our 2nd half performance at Stirling last weekend. However, the positives are that we dominated the 1st half and want to replicate that over a longer period this week while also capatilising on those opportunities created.

“We all know the challenge and dangers that Heriot’s will bring this weekend with their expansive strategy. This also means we will have to be on top of our game defensively to get anything out of the contest.”

Ben Cairns (Heriot’s Rugby) said:

“We got there in the end last weekend, however we are mindful that we must start better on Friday, after two consecutive slow starts and against a side who tend to come out the blocks well. We were able to freshen up a few bodies last week and we expect those players in particular to give us real energy from the start.

“Watsonians will be disappointed with their result at Bridgehaugh and will be looking to bounce back at home. With only one point between the two sides and the halfway point on the horizon, this game is pivotal for both teams’ Championship ambitions.”

Comments from the Coaches:

Alan Tait (Southern Knights) said:

“It’s always a tough game against the Wolves and as a group, they seemed to have kicked in the competition and had a good win against Watsonians. They’ve got a lot of experience now and they’ve balanced that well with younger players coming through, but we look forward to the competition and putting ourselves up against one of the top-form teams.

“However, we know the quality we have in this group and have shown we can cause teams problems in defence.”

Eddie Pollock (Stirling Wolves) said:

“Southern Knights have a very physical pack who along with some gifted backs offer a real threat to us at The Greenyards this Saturday. Alan Tait will have his team well prepared and highly motivated to produce a top performance at home.

“For us at the Wolves we have had another hard week’s training and are fully aware of the need to back up our outstanding second half performance against Watsonians, if we are to continue our winning run.”

Comments from the Coaches:

Pat McArthur (Ayrshire Bulls) said:

“The youth and talented Futures team, known for their dynamic playstyle, is set to make this fixture truly exciting. We have worked hard this week on sticking to our structures, with the addition of their Scotland U20 players the Futures are not a team to be taken lightly.

“Opting for a 4/4 split on the bench will provide us with greater flexibility in our backline options.”

Scott Forrest (FOSROC Future XV) said:

“Last week’s first half performance against Heriot’s showed a lot more positives and demonstrated how resilient this group is becoming. We have started to build our own identity and will look to build on the positives elements that we showed in our attack in those first 40 minutes against Heriot’s.

“The task this weekend is one of the toughest we will face as we know how formidable the Bulls are when playing at Millbrae. We are expecting a very physical encounter with the Bulls strengths clearly evident across the pitch.
