Hamilton On Scotland Call-Up
3 Jun 2008
Edinburgh lock Craig Hamilton says he is delighted to have been called into Scotland’s senior squad for the two Test tour of Argentina proving that patience can lead to international rugby. The towering second rower had flown out to Argentina with the rest of the squad on Saturday but realised that he would only be fully involved_during the two Test Tour if Scott Murray was unavailable. In the end, Murray’s involvement with French club Montauban meant that Hamilton got the nod and the 6 8 forward says he was pleased with the outcome.Hamilton said: ‘scott is a really good and experienced player, but I am working on the mindset that his loss could be my gain. ‘so far the training has been really good. It is nice to be in Argentina for the first time and I am looking forward to the whole experience and looking to gain as much as I possibly can from it.Craig is in for next season and you can join him by signing up for a 2008/2009 Edinburgh Rugby Club Season Ticket. Prices range from as little as _30 (or under-18a) so please call 0131 346 5180 to reserve your seat at The Castle for what promises to be another groundbreaking season for the Black and Red Army.Scotland head coach Frank Hadden congratulated Hamilton on the call-up and paid tribute to the way Hamilton handled himself while awaiting news of Murray’s availability.Hadden said: Craig has been the consummate professional in this situation and I thank him for his first-class response._Scotland, with Edinburgh scrum half Mike Blair captaining the side, face Argentina on Saturday 7 June in Rosario and Saturday 14 June in Buenos Aires.
