Latest Coaching Webinars Announced

1 Apr 2020

215 coaches from across Scotland connected online last week for the first in a series of coaching webinars.

Following the success of the first session, three more training and development opportunities have been made available to the Scottish Rugby coaching network.

The second of these webinars will take place on Thursday 2 April [tomorrow], where Scotland U18 Attack Coach Stuart Edwards will provide insight into the attacking strategies and core practices from the 2019/2020 season.

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend will host discussions on building a team on Monday 6 April, discussing creating a culture and developing resilience.

Stevie Lawrie, Edinburgh Rugby Assistant Forwards Coach, started his coaching career in the community game and progressed his way up the Scottish Rugby coaching ladder. On Thursday 9 April Stevie will talk about his learnings from the professional game and how they can be implemented in a domestic rugby setting.

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Training and Education, Neil Graham, said: “We were delighted with the sign-up to our first webinar with Kris Burney last week. We’ve received some great feedback from it and we’re delighted to be able to provide more learning opportunities to our network of coaches.

“The webinars aim to help coaches stay connected in these difficult times and will focus on specific aspects of the game each week.

“We know that not everyone will be able to tune in live, so we’re also uploading the webinar recordings to Hive Learning for people to view at a later date”

More online coaching webinar opportunities will be available over the coming months with each set of three speakers to be announced prior to the sessions.

Coaching webinars are open to those within the club and school game in Scotland.
