BT Murrayfield Stadium is set to host a record-breaking crowd as Liverpool FC host SSC Napoli in a pre-season friendly tomorrow (Sunday).
More than 65,000 fans will descend on the home of Scottish Rugby for the sold-out fixture, which will be the highest attended football match in Scotland in 30 years.
Liverpool FC, who became Champions of Europe after a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, announced they would play the pre-season friendly against Serie A stars SSC Napoli at the start of June.
Scottish Rugby’s Head of Group Stadium Operations,Claire Harkness said: “We’re excited to be welcoming Liverpool FC and SSC Napoli to BT Murrayfield tomorrow.
“We were delighted they decided to bring their pre-season friendly here and have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Liverpool FC to make this event come to life.
“The draw of seeing the six-times Champions of Europe in Scotland has been evident and ticket sales have gone really well. We sold out with three weeks still to go which shows the appetite for premier sporting events in Edinburgh.”
Fans coming to the match can enjoy the atmosphere pre kick-off in the West Fan Village which opens at 1pm. There will be live music, Q&As and an opportunity to have your photo taken with the UEFA Champions League Trophy. There will also be a selection of official merchandise stands, soft drinks and catering units, promoting the very best of Scottish produce.
Full information, including pre-match entertainment in the Fan Village can be found on the Scottish Rugby website.
