Ayrshire Bulls have today confirmed the appointment of former Scotland International Pat MacArthur as their Head Coach for the 2021 FOSROC Super6 season.
MacArthur’s position with the team comes after previous assistant coaching roles with the squad during the inaugural FOSROC Super6 season and prior to that with Ayr in 2019 when they won the Tennent’s Premiership and Scottish Cup double.
He started his playing career at Ayr as a junior and made his way to the 1stXV, where he was part of the team that won the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership in 2009 for the first time.
MacArthur went on to gain Scotland age grade and Scotland Club XV honours before signing a fulltime contract with Glasgow Warriors. Over the next ten years he made 165 appearances for Glasgow, making his full Scotland international debut against Samoa in 2013.
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to be Head Coach of the Ayrshire Bulls, this is a real honor for me as the club has been a big part of my life for a long time.”

“I’d like to thank Pete Murchie, it was great working with him and Glen Tippett as part of the coaching team when we won the double for the club back in 2019.
“I really enjoy supporting the development of players and those around me. I’m very excited about some of the players we have signed and looking forward to getting back to training.
“Because of the pandemic, life has been a real challenge for everyone recently, but I’m very confident that the Ayrshire Bulls are in a good place and we will be ready to go for the upcoming season. I want us to play an exciting brand of rugby that spectator’s supporters and sponsors can be proud of”.
Details on the 2021 FOSROC Super6 season will be confirmed in due course.
