Murrayfield attracts capacity crowd for Scotland’s next match
26 Feb 2013
Scotland’s final home game of the 2013 RBS 6 Nations Championship – against Wales a week on Saturday – is already sold-out.A capacity crowd of 67,144 will flock to the home of Scottish rugby to see if the team, led by captain Kelly Brown, can build on this month’s victories against Italy and Ireland. The crowd at the match against Wales on Saturday 9 March will bring the cumulative Murrayfield attendance for international matches this season to more than 300,000.Scottish Rugby’s Director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay, said: “As Kelly said after Sunday’s match against Ireland, a huge thank you to supporters for their backing of the national team and the game of rugby in our country.”The atmosphere on Sunday was phenomenal, even for seasoned Murrayfield spectators, and what’s especially pleasing for us is the number of young people, families and women who we are attracting to the stadium and who want to be with the Scotland team and create a truly inspiring occasion.”We’re striving to make a visit to Murrayfield on a Scotland match-day the greatest rugby day out so we’ve enhanced a lot of the activities around the ground, such as the family fun zone, the Ginger Grouse bar, the Caledonian Best Seat in the House and the bands. We will continue to work with our supporters to further improve their experience when they come to Murrayfield and thank them for their feedback on the improvements we’ve made so far.”We do occasionally receive return tickets as people find that their plans change so if you’re still looking to attend the Scotland v Wales match keep an eye on our website as any return tickets will be released for sale there. The website address is www.scottishrugby.org
