Nutrition X to fuel Scottish Rugby

22 Jul 2021

Leading sports nutrition brand Nutrition X has today been announced as the official performance supplement partner to Scottish Rugby in a new three-year deal.

The deal will see the Scotland national teams (men, women, 7s programmes and U20s), as well as Glasgow Warriors and the FOSROC Super6 clubs, provided with some of the world’s safest and highest-quality performance supplements.

The partnership will not just cover the provision of performance supplements tailored to the demands of elite rugby but will also cover an extensive education programme to ensure that players are maximising their ability to develop, perform and recover.

This partnership will see the expert team from Nutrition X working closely with the performance staff of all squads to support our high-performance environments. This will include specific research projects that will target our ability to train and recover optimally through fuelling, adding further to the extensive research already underway within the High-Performance department and ensuring that we are constantly striving for the best environments for our athletes.

Scottish Rugby Head of Athletic Development, Andy Boyd said: “We are delighted to welcome Nutrition X on board for the next three years. In Scotland we are privileged to have such amazing fresh produce available to our players but at times, within the elite sport environment, we need to look for further support, and that’s where we feel Nutrition X will help fill the gap.

“They are a partner that matches our philosophy and has both education and supplement safety at its core. They have come up with some exciting ideas that will not only see our athletes receiving high-quality performance supplements but will also help us to expand the knowledge base of players across Scotland.”

Nutrition X Managing Director, James Markey said: “We’re honoured to be fuelling Scottish Rugby for the coming three years and couldn’t be prouder to be working so closely with such a sporting institution.

“It’s clear to us that Scottish Rugby care deeply about offering players not only the correct level of nutritional support, but about developing their own knowledge and understanding of how nutrition plays such a vital role in performance.

“We’re really looking forward to supporting each of the players when it comes to both supplementation and education; here’s to some fantastic seasons ahead.”
