Preview: Argentina v Scotland 3rd Test

15 Jul 2022

Scotland face Argentina at Estadio Único Madre de Cuidades on Saturday, with the final test deciding the series after a win for each side in the opening two encounters.

Scotland kept the series alive last weekend with a 29-6 win after losing 26-18 in the 1st test.

What they said:

Head Coach Gregor Townsend said: “We can’t wait.

“We’ve had a really enjoyable tour, it’s just great to have the players again for a four-five week period and to be on tour here in this wonderful country.

“But what we’re here for is the test series and we’ve put ourselves in a position where we can go out and win it now.”

(On Hamish being captain) “He’s been a key leader for us on this tour.

“This is the first time he’s really been nominated or put into our leadership group, first time he’s been vice-captain and he’s thrived on that responsibility.

“He’s so well respected from the group, from us as coaches, and he plays consistently well for Scotland.

“We see this as something he’s earned it will be great to see him leading out the team again, as he did it on his 50th cap last week.”
