Preview: Travelling to Wales to conclude Six Nations campaign

Scott Cummings was one of the players lined up for the welsh encounter back in March. Cummings reflects on the confidence and momentum from the build-up to that fixture, before the game was called off.

He said: “Our past performances got us to the stage where we were
confident going down there.

“I think before the wins against Italy and France we were building and our defence was getting better and better and we were playing with a lot more confidence.

“Now we have come back together and kept that confidence and we will be going down to Wales pushing and expecting to get a good result.”

Darcy Graham reflects on last Friday’s win over Georgia and the similarities between Saturday’s opponents.

He said: “It was a good win. They [Georgia] are big physical men and the Welsh are exactly same. It’s going to be a different animal going down to Wales and it’ll be a tough game.

“Wales will attack a lot more than the Georgians did and we probably won’t see as much ball as we did on Friday night, so we need to get our heads around that, because we’re going to have a lot more defending to do.”

• Scotland come into this match having won back-to-back games in the Six Nations, they’ve not won three in a row in the 5/6 Nations since 1996 when they beat Ireland, France and Wales in succession.
• Wales have scored four tries originating from inside their own half in this year’s Six Nations, the joint most of any side (France also 4), while 50% of Scotland’s tries (3/6) have come from that range, the highest ratio of any side.
• Neither Scotland nor Wales have been shown a card of either colour in this Six Nations, the only sides to manage this; Wales are on a run of 10 games in the tournament without being shown a card, Scotland have been given just one yellow in their last 14 matches, and none in their last eight.
• Scotland’s Stuart Hogg has carried the ball for 377 metres in this Six Nations, the most of any player, whilst no player has made more metres over the gainline than him (305, also Jacob Stockdale).
• Adam Hastings needs seven points to reach 100 for Scotland, he would be the 17^th player to achieve this feat for Scotland, his father Gavin sits third on the all-time list with 667.
• Alun Wyn Jones is set to win his 149^th cap (140^th for Wales, also 9 for Lions), in doing so becoming the most capped male rugby player of all time (currently tied with Richie McCaw on 148).
