Preview: U18 Men’s and Women’s Festivals

​The Six Nations Under-18 Festivals begin this weekend with Men’s U18 matches taking place in Marcoussis, France and Women’s U18 fixtures on the back pitches at BT Murrayfield and DAM Health Stadium.

Scottish Rugby are hosting the first Under-18 Women’s Festival, coordinated by Six Nations and showcasing a strengthening in the foundations for the stars of the future.

On Saturday Scotland U18 men face Italy in their opening fixture of the campaign (kick-off 11am BST), the fixture will be broadcast live on scottishrugby.org.

Scotland U18 Women will play 35-minute matches also on Saturday, with 25-minute breaks between the games, with the first matches kicking off at 1.30pm.

Then on Wednesday, the Women’s team will play matches of 35-minute halves, with 15-minute half-time periods, again starting at 1.30pm.

The Scotland U18 Men are back in action on Wednesday too as they face their French counterparts (kick-off 1.30pm BST), before their final game of their Six Nations festival against England on Sunday 17 April (kick-off 12.35pm BST).

Scotland U18 Head Coaches Ross Miller (Men) and Duncan Harrison (Women) named their 26-player Six Nations squads on Monday, you can view the Men’s squad HERE and the Womens squad HERE.

The young Scotland U18 Women’s side will play Wales (kick off 1.30pm) and Italy (kick off 3.30pm) on Saturday before playing Italy (kick off 2.30pm) again on Wednesday in the longer format.

Entry to both days of the tournament in Edinburgh is free, and there is no need to register before attending.

The U18 Women’s fixtures on Wednesday will be streamed live on the Under-20 Six Nations Youtube channel.
