The Scotland under-16 squad has been named for the BMW Wellington International Festival 2015, which gets underway this weekend. Scotland’s first game is against England North on Sunday (5 April) and they then play Wales Celts on Wednesday 8 April and England South West on Saturday 11 April. The side, which is led by the new coaching team of Roddy Deans, Steve Lawrie and Davy Wilson, warmed up with a 56-7 win over Newcastle Falcons last month. Included in the 26-man squad is former Scotland international Bryan Redpath’s son, Cameron, and he says he’s really looking forward to pulling on the Scotland jersey for the first time in a competitive match. The 15-year-old stand-off said: This is the first time I’ll have played for Scotland, having played for Scottish Exiles for just under a year. I’m really looking forward to it as it’ll be a great challenge for me.The games will be a lot of quicker and physical than what I’m used to, but it’s something I’m relishing. It’s a massive honour to play for Scotland as not many people get the chance to represent their country, so the fact I’ve been chosen is a big thing for me. It’s a great chance for me to make my mark. I’ve got high hopes to do well and this is the first step. I’m based in the north of England so I know some of the guys I’ll be playing against which will be interesting. My Dad has always really supported me and I can ask him anything, knowing he’ll give good advice as he’s been there and done it. If I make a mistake, he’ll be there to tell me how to improve and that is really helpful. He’s been a massive influence, along with everyone in my family.Scotland under-16 head coach, Roddy Deans said: We’ve had very good preparation with three training camps and the boys have come together well and we’re now looking forward to some competitive matches. The English and Welsh teams are very well organised, but our boys will be going down there full of confidence. The way the guys have trained has been excellent as they’ve improved after every training session. These matches will give them a great grounding and it’s brilliant for them to experience international rugby at such a young age.” There will be coverage of Scotland’s progress at the Wellington Festival on scottishrugby.org.  Scotland under-16 National Squad to play at BMW Wellington Festival 2015: Forwards: Adam Kerr (Hutchesons’ GS), Andrew O’Neill (Glenalmond College), Callum Cruickshank (Stirling County RFC/Dollar Academy), Cameron Blakemore (Stirling County RFC/Dollar Academy), Connor Clark (Stirling County RFC), Finlay Richardson (Merchiston Castle School), Finlay Darrah (Dunbar Grammar School/Dunbar RFC), Finlay Scott (Jedburgh GS/Jed Thistle RFC), Paul Cairncross (East Kilbride RFC/Kelvinside Academy), Robbie Smith (Newton Stewart RFC), Roderick Guiney(Peebles High School/Peebles RFC), Sean Gauld(Dundee Eagles/High School of Dundee), Martin Hughes (St. Aloysius’ College), Andrew Christie (Old Bristolians RFC/Bristol GS).   Backs: Calum Gaw (Ayr RFC), Edmund Abekhe (Fettes College), Jack Paterson (Fettes College), Josh Eagers(Merchiston Castle School/Currie RFC), Kaleem Barreto (Glenalmond College),Matt Davidson (Ayr RFC/Wellington School), Peter Steele (Biggar RFC), Ross Thompson (Stewart’s Melville College), Jack McCready (Glasgow Hawks RFC/TheGlasgow Academy), Fraser Dingwall (Cambridge RUFC/Bedford School), Rory McMichael (Wellington College), Cameron Redpath (Kings School – Macclesfield).
