Ruth Slaven, Head Coach at Heriots, said, “We dreamed of being in the semi-final of the Sarah Beaney Cup in our first season, we worked hard to make it a viable goal and now I couldn’t be prouder of the work the whole club has put in to get us here.”

Talking about the other semi-finalists, she said, “We have been so impressed with our opponents, over the last year in particular, they have added depth to their senior squad and now have a pathway with a junior squad.

“It’s so exciting to see the game growing all across the city and Watsonians have certainly been the leading team. We know they will have their hearts set on going one better than last year on finals day, but we will push them all the way.”

In the National Women’s Plate semi-finals, Stewartry RFC will be hosting Inverness Craig Dunain RFC.

David Thomson, head coach of Stewartry Sirens, said, “It’s awesome to know that we are in the semi-final and one potential win from a trip to Murrayfield for the final. It’s testament to the team for the efforts they’ve made over the season, both on game day and at training.

“We wish Inverness a safe trip down the road, a huge shift from them, as it’s not exactly just around the corner. We have never played Inverness before, so this is adding to the excitement of the day.”
