Scotland 7s upskill with coaching qualification

This week, a selection of Scotland 7s players have bolstered their rugby knowledge by undertaking a nationally recognised coaching qualification. Colin Gregor, Andrew Turnbull, Struan Dewar, Nyle Godsmark and Colin Shaw have completed the UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) Level 2 qualification, which introduces the key elements of coaching and refereeing mini rugby. Kelso coaches Euan Ford and Andrew Skeen, who is a former Scotland 7s international, joined the sevens players on the course.53 times capped sevens player, Colin Gregor spoke to www.scottishrugby.org about the benefits of completing the course:Elsewhere, as part of Scottish Rugby’s commitment to coaches, the annual Club Coach Coordinator conference took place at BT Murrayfield last Sunday (18 January).The main focus of the conference was to update Club Coach Coordinators on the key areas that currently are affecting the Scottish club game.Some 45 club representatives attended from various corners of the country, including Inverness and Langholm.The workshop focussed on building coaching philosophies and was delivered by Victoria Clark (Active Advantage) and Adrienne Hunter (SEE Consultants).
