Scotland back-row forward Kelly Brown was in “good spirits” today and is recovering after the head knock which forced him to retire from yesterday’s Calcutta Cup match at Twickenham.Scotland team doctor James Robson said today: “Kelly was concussed but is in good fettle today and is beginning the first stages of the return to play protocol.” Brown will be subject to further daily assessment. Dr Robson added: “There were various other bumps and bruises of the magnitude befitting such an intense Test match.”Forwards Moray Low (arm), Richie Gray (neck), Alastair Kellock (foot), Nathan Hines (knee), John Barclay (hand) and Richie Vernon (calf) will be subject to ongoing treatment as will backs Max Evans (knee and ankle), Joe Ansbro (calf), Simon Danielli (neck), Dan Parks (knee) and Chris Paterson (shoulder).Scotland reconvene at Murrayfield tomorrow to begin preparations for Saturday’s final RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Italy on Saturday at Murrayfield (kick-off 2.30pm).Tickets for that match are available – including£15 tickets for students and children – via www.scottishrugby.org or phone 0844 335 3933.
