Scotland ready to welcome fans for French Test

7 Mar 2020

Scottish Rugby is ready to welcome supporters to a sold-out BT Murrayfield tomorrow for the Guinness Six Nations match, Scotland v France (kick-off 3pm).

The West Fan Village will open at 12 noon and fans are encouraged to get to the stadium in good time ahead of the game, which will see both sides contest the ‘Auld Alliance’ trophy.

Scottish Rugby has been working very closely with, and has the full support of, Scottish Government to host the match in light of public awareness around coronavirus.

We would ask supporters to be aware of UK NHS advice around the steps which can be taken to mitigate risk of infection through good personal hygiene.

To support this Scottish Rugby teamed up with Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Catherine Calderwood this week to promote the need for thorough hand washing and will be ensuring there are adequate supplies of sanitising gel in men’s and women’s toilets and other public areas of the stadium.

Watch Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Catherine Calderwood and Scotland players Chris Harris and Sam Skinner demonstrate how to stay clean and healthy!

Additional first aid provision will also be in place at the stadium for anyone who feels unwell.

The decision last night to postpone the Scotland Women match v France Women scheduled for tonight (Saturday) at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow was taken as a sensible precaution due to one team member testing positive for coronavirus.

All appropriate steps were taken from when they first displayed symptoms with regards to self isolation and the team member is now at a health facility receiving treatment.

Scottish Rugby has put multiple provisions in place to both communicate NHS advice to its supporters, sponsors and staff in recent weeks and requests all spectators, sponsors and partners attending the game vs France on Sunday can take all necessary hygiene steps promoted by NHS see link:

We look forward to hosting all supporters on Sunday for what should be a highly competitive game of Six Nations test match rugby.
