22 Jul 2022Scotland Women U18 7s Head Coach, Graeme Blackhall, has named his squad for this weekend’s Rugby Europe U18 7s Girls Championship event in Prague (23 and 24 July).
Scotland Women U18 7s Head Coach, Graeme Blackhall, has named his squad for this weekend’s Rugby Europe U18 7s Girls Championship event in Prague (23 and 24 July).
The tournament will feature nine teams from across the continent, with Scotland drawn in Pool C alongside Ukraine and Ireland.
Scotland’s first match of the day will see the side face Ukraine (12.06pm BST), before taking on Ireland (2.28pm BST) later in the afternoon.
All of the 12 players named in the squad recently featured in the inaugural U18 Women’s Six Nations Festival in Edinburgh, with the side recording an impressive 24-22 victory against Italy in the final game of the tournament.
Blackhall said: “After two seasons of not being able to attend the championships after our strong debut in 2019, both staff and this new group of players are raring to go.
“I’m really pleased with where the group are at with managing the transition from 15s to the different demands of the 7-a-side game. The players have progressed hugely in a relatively short space of time and I’m looking forward to seeing how they respond against equally talented opponents from across Europe.”
All the action across this weekend’s event will be broadcast live on Rugby Europe TV.
