More than 4,500 tickets for Scotland’s Murrayfield RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Ireland in March sold in the first hour this morning.Scottish Rugby was embarking on the latest phase of its public ticket sale and supporters rushed to buy tickets via the 24-hour credit card hotline; the internet; and in person at the Murrayfield Ticket Centre.Around 100 supporters braved the wintry weather to queue at Murrayfield from the early hours of the morning.The first fan in the queue, a young Scotsman, didn’t want to reveal his identity “as I’ve taken a sicky from work”.  Next was Norman Turner from Colinton in Edinburgh who has been a Murrayfield regular for 20 years and Roy Dewar from Corstorphine.  Mr Dewar said: “I think we will win all our home games this year.”Edinburgh University students Kathryn Herron and Herminone Wood, both 19, were excited to being buying tickets for their first live Murrayfield match.”I’ve seen rugby on the telly and the atmosphere looks amazing,” said Kathryn, who hails from just outside Belfast and is studying geography.  “I’ve been to Ravenhill but never to Murrayfield.”Herminone, who is studying geology and comes from Penrith in Cumbria, added: “We heard about the ticket sale from a friend, went on the website and decided to come down.”Supporters can buy tickets in three ways: via the 24-hour credit-card hotline (tel: 0871 200 1511); online via www.scottishrugby.org; or in person from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh. The Ticket Centre is open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.Tickets are also on sale for Scotland’s other home RBS 6 Nations Championship matches against Wales (Sunday 8 February, kick-off 3pm) and Italy (Saturday 28 February, kick-off 3pm), in addition to the Ireland game (Saturday 14 March, kick-off 5pm)Tickets cost£30,£45 and£60 for adults and£15,£22.50 and£30 for under-18s for the matches against Wales and Ireland. For the game against Italy adult tickets are£20,£30 and£60, while the concession prices of£10,£15 and£30 include full-time students as well as under-18s.Note to editorsPlease note a booking fee applies to all card transactions and that no tickets are on sale on match day.
