Scotland v New Zealand: the most popular Autumn game ever!

Scotland’s game against the All Blacks this November has created an unprecedented demand for tickets. Rugby clubs – whose members have first access to tickets – bought the highest ever number of tickets for an autumn international. The wider public have been just as eager: more packages have already been bought (after three weeks) than for last year’s series, with the range of 2-match packages, which went on sale on Monday, the most popular.

“Demand has been phenomenal,” said Olaf Gueldner, Scottish Rugby’s new Chief Customer Officer. “It started with rugby club members, who bought the same number of tickets for New Zealand that they usually buy for a Calcutta Cup match: by far the highest ever bought by club members for an autumn international.”

Although individual match tickets for all four games (against USA, New Zealand, Argentina and Tonga) are scheduled to go on sale next week, Scottish Rugby cannot guarantee there will be many – if any – left for New Zealand. Gueldner said: “The race for All Blacks tickets has been so intense that after the Supporters Club pre-sale, we expect the number of tickets available for general sale – if there are any at all – to be very limited.”
