Scotland Women XV name squad for Spain XV

30 Oct 2017

Scotland Women have named their squad to face Spain XV in a friendly this week (5 November).

The squad includes Scotland Women’s four professional players; back-row Jade Konkel, fullback Chloe Rollie, centre Lisa Thomson (all BT Sport Academy / Lille Metropole Rugby Club Villeneuvois) and scrum-half Sarah Law (BT Sport Academy / Edinburgh University /Murrayfield Wanderers).

Lisa Martin, fly-half, also features following her recent signing for Tyrrells Premier 15s team, DMP Sharks.

Scotland Women Head Coach, Shade Munro, said: “We’re really looking forward to our first friendly international of the season in Madrid, as we continue to raise the level of competitive fixtures ahead of the 2018 Women’s Six Nations.

“It will also be the first outing of the season for our three BT Sport Academy Stage 3 players – Jade, Chloe and Lisa – who have all been performing extremely well for Lille Metropole in the Top 8.

“The experience and knowledge they have gained will be a very welcome addition to an improving Scotland squad.”

Scotland Women last played Spain in two full Internationals last year in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup qualifiers at home and away, coming away with two narrow losses.

Scotland Women will come together again in two weeks’ time (16-19 November) for a further training camp and will host Wales Women XV for a competitive training session.
