Scotland’S Got Under-15 Talent!
29 Jun 2011
As part of Scottish Rugby’s talent identification and player development strategy, we will be running a talent identification programme for under-15 girls this summer, kicking off this Sunday (3 July) at four locations throughout Scotland. Please find below information on how to get involved plus links to registration and consent forms for those who wish to apply to trial. (You must bring your completed forms with you on Sunday) Under-15 Talent ID Programme We would encourage girls born in 1997, 1998, 1999, who have the athletic ability and enthusiasm for rugby that could lead to a future place within the national under-20s squad, to come along. We will be selecting two talent development groups from the four talent ID days, held on 3 July 2011 (10am registration – 2.30pm finish) at four regional centres: North East – Aberdeenshire RFC (Woodside Sports Complex, Station Road, Woodside, Aberdeen, AB24 2UL) North West – Highland RFC (Canal Park, Inverness, IV3 5SS) South East – Murrayfield Stadium all-weather back pitch (Edinburgh EH12 5PT) South West – Cartha QP RFC (92 Dumbreck Road, Glasgow, G41 4SN) The two training groups will take part in skills development training on 7 and 21 August. Identified players will then be given an individual player development plan to help them progress into the under-18 programme in the future. Girls of the appropriate age and ability will then be recommended to trial for the under-18 regional programme the following season.ADMINISTRATION Please complete the registration forms available here and post back a completed paper copy. Paper copies will only be accepted for the consent and medical information forms – available here – both of which must be signed and returned, prior to trials and by 11 June 2011 at the latest, to: Jenny Macleod, Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, EH12 5PJ NB: Players who do not return the consent form prior to the event will not be permitted to participate without a parent / guardian being present on the trials day to sign the form.
