After the game, Scotland Women head coach, Lee Adamson, said: I’m massively disappointed not to get the win I suppose now we can only aim to get better. Scotland’s Cara D’Silva was the first to find the score-sheet as she crossed the line after six minutes. However, it was the powerful Italians who dominated throughout with Jilly McCord having to wait until the 66th minute to get Scotland’s second. But it was the Italians who outplayed the Scots in every department with their ability to convert the high penalty count into points. Their aggressive defence also held firm to keep the Scots at bay. Scotland Women: Lynsey Douglas (Richmond); Cara D’Silva (RHC), Veronica Fitzpatrick (RHC), Suzi Newton (Blaydon/Team Northumbria), Tanya Griffith (RHC); Erin Kerr (Richmond), Sarah Gill (Murrayfield Wanderers); Heather Lockhart (Hillhead/Jordanhill), Sarah-Louise Walker (Watsonians), Jilly McCord (RHC) CAPTAIN, Lana Blyth (Murrayfield Wanderers), Lindsay Wheeler (Blaydon/Team Northumbria), Louise Moffat (RHC), Lynne Reid (RHC), Sonia Cull (RHC) Substitutes (all used): Joan Hutchison (Hillhead/Jordanhill), Beth Dickens (Murrayfield Wanderers), Mary Lafaiki GHA), Keri Holdsworth (Watsonians), Louise Dalgliesh (RHC), Laura Steven (Murrayfield Wanderers), Julie Sanaghan (Kirkcaldy)
