Seymour: Scots need to be on the money against France

20 Feb 2019

Winger Tommy Seymour has shared his thoughts on Scotland’s next Guinness Six Nations fixture against France ahead of Saturday's game (kick-off 2.15pm GMT) - live on BBC.

According to Seymour, if the team want to secure their first victory in the stadium in over two decades then working well as a team and focusing on their game plan will be crucial.

He said: “It’s our job to concentrate on the rugby game on Saturday. We’re just concentrating on doing our job.

“We’re all familiar with the game plan and our roles and making sure we know how to execute them.”

The winger believes that whoever is chosen to play against France will fit in well with the dynamic and add depth to the team.

He said: “We’re focusing on the game and these guys all have experience and have slotted in naturally to their position.

“I have full confidence in all of them. They can come in and play very well. They’ve all got experience at this level and have all shown, at club and international level, that they can manage a game and be stand up performers in it.”

It is not the first time that Seymour has set foot in the Stade de France, having played there on three previous occasions, the last of which was during the 2017 Six Nations.

After two disappointing losses to Wales and England, Seymour says he is certain that France will put up a fight.

He said: “The French team will be going out with passion and emotion and looking to set things right.

“We’ll be concentrating on going out and executing a game plan, making sure we do the basics and exploiting the right areas.

“We’ve got to be mindful that they’ll have threats all over the park and we’ll look to play from everywhere and then coupling with that they’ll have a point to prove. We have to be on the money.”
