Supporters Encouraged To Back Scotland Ahead Of Rugby World Cup

Ahead of Scotland’s EMC Test against Ireland at Murrayfield this Saturday, sales of tickets have now reached around the 20,000 mark.To ensure all supporters have an opportunity to come along to Murrayfield to back the team ahead of the IRB Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the match in addition to the usual pre-booking avenues.Tickets on match day will be available to purchase through three channels:Online – www.scottishrugby.org until 12noon v Ireland and 3pm v Italy24 hour hotline- 0844 335 3933 until 12noon v Ireland and 3pm v ItalyOr in person by cash or credit card at specially designated ticket sales outlets located in front of Murrayfield Stadium, off Roseburn Street from 9am until kick-off. Dominic McKay, Scottish Rugby’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs, said:”We very much look forward to welcoming all supporters to Murrayfield next Saturday and again on Saturday 20 August when we face Italy, ahead of the team departing for the IRB Rugby World Cup.”Having reviewed our ticketing policy, we have decided to trial match day ticket sales for our two EMC Tests against Ireland and Italy.”Following the two games we will evaluate the effectiveness of match-day ticket sales and will seek the views of our supporters and stakeholders on this issue.”The national squad and everyone at Scottish Rugby greatly appreciate the continued and loyal support the team receives.”With tickets on sale now, I would encourage fans to buy in advance however facilities will be in place at Murrayfield to ensure that everyone who wants to come to support Scotland can do so this Saturday and also for the game against Italy.”Collections for all pre-purchased tickets will be via the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre.
