Tennent’s Women’s Premiership – Saturday 8 October

Two clubs who have had mixed fortunes face each other on Saturday as Cartha Queens Park host Hillhead Jordanhill.

Both sides have won two games so far this season and sit on 10 points, with Cartha having played one game more.

Hillhead Jordanhill picked up a win at home to Watsonians last time out, whilst Cartha Queens Park lost at home to Corstorphine.

Garioch will be looking for a first win of the season when they host Heriot’s Blues.

Heriot’s have a mixed start, winning two and losing two of their opening four games.

Garioch captain Nikki Simpson said: “After having two weeks off, there is a big buzz around Garioch to get back on the pitch this weekend.

“We know it will be a tough match but we have worked hard in training to tweak our game plan to challenge Heriots.”

Heriot’s Coach Rhona Hume said: “We’ve had a rollercoaster start to the season where we have shown glimpses of what we are capable of.

“We are looking forward to hitting the road this weekend and will be very focused on nailing our processes and hammering the energy targets as well.”

Stirling County will look to keep their 100% record this season going when they host Corstorphine Cougars.

Corstorphine themselves have only lost one game and sit just six points behind Stirling.

Stirling Head Coach Mark Ainsworth said: “We’re looking forward to hosting Cougars at Bridgehaugh this weekend.

“They are coming off a strong result against Cartha and may prove to be our toughest test to date.

“We had a fantastic first half against Heriots but then struggled in the second half.

“Our target this week is to maintain our focus for the entire game.”

Tennent’s Women’s National 1 – Sunday 9 October

Third placed Howe of Fife host second placed Biggar, with both teams able to reach the summit of the league depending on results elsewhere.

West of Scotland and Ayr will both be looking for a second win of the season when they meet at Burnbrae.

League leaders Stewartry will need to avoid defeat at home to Broughton in order to stay at the top.

This weekend, all the games kick off at 2pm.
