The Clan to showcase unified rugby at BT Murrayfield
27 May 2016
Scotland’s unified rugby club, The Clan, will showcase another strand of the game on the BT Murrayfield back pitches before tomorrow’s GUINNESS PRO12 Final. Unified rugby enables players, who are challenged either physically or mentally, to play in the same team as able-bodied players.Under the drive of charity Trust Rugby International, with which Scottish Rugby has a partnership, branches of The Clan, have launched in Ayrshire and Edinburgh and The Clan represented Scotland at the Unified Rugby World Tournament in Bradford last August, finishing the competition unbeaten in fifth place.A team with which they drew last August, Sundays Well Rebels from Cork in Ireland, went on to win that world tournament and they will provide the opposition in a rematch on the back-pitches tomorrow (Saturday 28 May), kick-off 3pm.The match will be played in three x 20 minute periods and Scottish Rugby President Ed Crozier will be on hand at its conclusion to present a trophy to the winning team.If you’re coming along to the Connacht v Leinster match, then catch The Clan v Sundays Well Rebels too.
