Three changes to Scotland 7s squad for Vancouver

Head Coach Ciaran Beattie has made three injury-enforced changes to the Scotland 7s squad for the HSBC World Sevens Series in Vancouver this weekend (7-8 March).
Injuries to Sam Pecqueur (shoulder), Ross McCann (wrist) and Nyle Godsmark (knee) have ruled the trio out for the sixth leg of the series in Canada, where Scotland will compete in Pool D of the competition against Australia, USA and Samoa – the same line-up they faced in Los Angeles last weekend.
Edinburgh wing Dougie Fife returns to the group having featured in Hamilton and Sydney legs, while Jed Forest wing Callum Young is selected to make his debut on the World Series.
Tom Brown is promoted into the match squad from the 13-man cover role, with Marr’s Scott Bickerstaff stepping into the vacated position.
Head Coach Ciaran Beattie said: “The players ruled out will be missed but we’re grateful to be able to call upon the talents of Dougie, Callum and Scott for this weekend.
“We finished well in beating Kenya in our final game in Los Angeles, despite a significant injury toll.
“It’s a result from which we want to push on against same pool stage opponents as last weekend, which presents an opportunity to test ourselves against quality and familiar opposition.”
