After a positive start to their HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series campaign in Dubai, Scotland travel to South Africa with much the same squad as they look to build continuity.
Darcy Graham was top try scorer in Dubai and named in the tournament’s Dream Team. He has been recalled by Edinburgh Rugby and is replaced in John Dalziel’s squad by his club teammate Glenn Bryce.
Sam Pecqueur signed a partnership contract the 7s at the start of the season and is in line to make his World Series debut, replacing fellow Melrose man Ross McCann in the twelve-man matchday squad.
Scotland have been drawn in Pool C in Cape Town against Argentina, Uganda and England.
Scotland 7s Head Coach John Dalziel said: “Morale is good, boys have reviewed Dubai and are clear on the areas we need to focus on and improve.
“Darcy will be a miss but Glenn is an experienced 7s operator who was involved in both London wins and his inclusion will be a boost.
“Sam Pecqueur will make his World Series debut and will provide energy going into Cape Town.
“Facing England again will be tough but it’s a chance for us to address some issues we created for ourselves last week and to show how we have progressed.”
