Oban Lorne Finish Ndl On A High
Last NDL day of the season Sunday 22nd April saw the last NDL fixture being hosted by Oban Lorne WRFC at Glencruitten. Several teams made the long journey-Howe of Fife,Grangemouth,Stirling Uni and Strathclyde Uni. As usual the day began with coaching sessions, which were ably delivered by Oban Lorne stalwarts Andy MacDougall,Duncan MacDougall and Del Robertson. Oban Ladies played two matches, beating Howe of Fife 42-0 and Stirling Uni 12-0. This secured Oban third place overall in the NDL,not a bad result for their first fully competitive year. The season continues however, with Oban playing Glasgow Uni at Oban on Sunday 29/4/07 in the semi finals of the National Bowl competition. The result of this match will decide whether the ladies stay at home on 5th May for Oban Sevens or whether they make yet another epic journey for the Finals of the National Bowl. After the 5th May the Oban Ladies will be into the swing of their 7’s season-with competitions in Mull,Amsterdam and National Sevens.
