Tomorrow [Saturday] Boroughmuir Bears will make the short trip to play Heriot’s Rugby in an Edinburgh derby whilst fellow capital side, and league leaders, Watsonians will travel to play bottom placed Stirling County.

On Sunday the Southern Knights will make the trip across county to play second placed Ayrshire Bulls in a match that will be broadcast live on Scottish Rugby TV and on BBC Sport Scotland.

Heriot’s Rugby will be looking to continue their good performances as of late and make this their fifth consecutive win in the FOSROC Super6 when they host Boroughmuir Bears at Goldenacre.

Heriot’s Head Coach Phil Smith has made a number of changes from his side who won away in Stirling last weekend.

Andrew Nimmo and Josh Scott replace the injured Chris Keen and Dan Gamble who is with Scotland U20. There is rotation in the second row as Charlie Jupp and Callum Marshal, who were on the bench last week, earn a start.

Andrew Simmers will start at scrumhalf with Ross Jones at stand-off, the centre pairing of Robert Kay and Cameron Hutchison remain, whilst James Couper and Rory McMichael earn the two spots on the wing, Harry Paterson will make his FOSROC Super6 debut at fullback.

The Heriot’s bench contains the exciting front row prospect Duncan Hood. The schoolboy, who captained Stewart’s Melville to victory in the U18 School Cup last year, will become the youngest player in the FOSROC Super6 should he get his chance off the bench.

Boroughmuir Bears will want to earn their first FOSROC Super6 win this year when they make the trip across Edinburgh to play Heriot’s.

Graham Sheil, Boroughmuir Bears Head Coach, has selected the same front row who played against Southern Knights last weekend with Callum Atkinson returning from injury to partner Ewan Stewart in the boiler house. In the backrow Matt Walker replaces Gregor Brown who is with Scotland U20s and Craig Keddie will captain the side from number eight.

In the backs Tom Wilson is the scrumhalf who will partner Martin Cimprich at stand-off while Archie Russell comes into the squad to partner Greg Cannie in the centre with the back three of Jordan Edmunds, Glen Faulds and Cammy Gray completing the squad.

Stirling County will look to win their second game of the tournament when they host Watsonians at Bridgehaugh tomorrow [Saturday].

Head Coach Ben Cairns has made minimal changes to his squad who lost by only one point to Heriot’s Rugby last weekend. The front row remains unchanged while Jale Vakaloloma is released by Glasgow Warriors to start in the second row as Cameron Henderson is with Scotland U20s. In the back-row Ali Mackie will make his FOSROC Super6 debut as he returns from an injury sustained in pre-sesason.

The County backline has only one change with replacement scrum half Caleb Korteweg making a start on the wing for the injured Ewan MacGarvie.

If Watsonians are victorious over Stirling County tomorrow [Saturday] they will stretch ahead of the Ayrshire Bull who are in second place in the FOSROC Super6.

Watsonians Head Coach Fergus Pringle has a number of his players unavailable due to Scotland U20 preparations for the forthcoming Six Nations. In the forward pack Brian Leitch returns from injury to start in the second row whilst James Millar starts at openside flanker for Scotland U20s Conner Boyle.

The back line is steered by current FOSROC Super6 top points scorer Lee Millar at stand-off with Lewis Berg and Andrew Chalmers earning the number 13 and 14 starting jerseys.

Ayrshire Bulls will want to get back to winning ways and gain the five valuable league points on offer tomorrow [Sunday] afternoon so that they can move above Heriot’s Rugby who sit in second place.

Head Coach Peter Murchie has made only four changes to his squad who played Watsonians last week. In the pack Michael Scott makes a start in the front row whilst in the backs Craig Gossman and Matt Davidson take up their positions on the wing with Grant Anderson earning a first FOSROC Super6 start at fullback.

The Southern Knights will look to continue their impressive performance from last week when they scored six tries against the Boroughmuir Bears at The Greenyards.

Rob Chrystie, Head Coach, has made only two changes to his starting squad who were victorious last Sunday.

In the forward pack hooker Fraser Renwick will start after impressing well and scoring a brace of tries when he took to the field as the replacement front row against the Bears.

In the backs Ciaran Whyte retains his position on the wing after scoring two tries whilst Tom Galbraith gets a well-earned chance at stand-off in place of Edinburgh’s Jason Baggott.
