As part of a week-long programme of events to celebrate Commonwealth Day within the Parliamentary headquarters, Scotland 7s head coach Stephen Gemmell will be joined by captain Scott Forrest and team-mate Ben Addison along with athletes and coaches from other commonwealth sports for a function hosted by the Scottish branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. Looking forward to the event, Gemmell said: This is a good opportunity to keep the profile of Scottish rugby high within the parliamentary arena. It will also be a chance to mix with athletes and coaches from other commonwealth sports and to further demonstrate our commitment to supporting Scotland’s bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.Celebrated on the second Monday in March every year, Commonwealth Day aims to promote understanding on global issues, international co-operation and the work of the Commonwealth to improve the lives of its 1.8 billion citizens.
