Scotland Arrive In Paris
The Scotland team arrived safely in their central Paris hotel late this afternoon ahead of Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship opener with France. The party were in good spirits as they flew on a special charter with the Scotland under-20, Scotland Women and Scotland Club International sides. Joining the 22-strong Scotland squad are three extra players – the Edinburgh duo Scott MacLeod and Chris Paterson and Glasgow Warriors’ forward Robert Harley. MacLeod and Paterson are seasoned campaigners but for Harley it is his first taste of the whole jamboree. It’s now standard practice that Scotland travel to away internationals with extra players, so nothing untoward should be read into their involvement. En route from Charles de Gaulle airport to the team’s hotel, they passed the Stade de France, venue for Saturday’s match, where Scotland last tasted victory in 1999. The Scots will have their final training session under the watchful eye of head coach Andy Robinson at the ground on Friday lunchtime.
