Scotland Book Place In Bowl Final

Scotland 22 Argentina 7 Scotland made it through to their second successive Bowl Final as they saw off the feisty Pumas at Murrayfield to the delight of the home crowd in the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s this afternoon. Last weekend at Twickenham, Scotland faced Kenya in the Bowl Final and a repeat was secured as Kenya trounced Spain in the other semi-final.  Scotland made a patient start to their semi-final but it was Argentina who struck first through a try by Hernan Olivari. The half-time hooter had sounded as Scotland pounded the Argentine line and Michael Fedo powered over for the equalising try, Colin Gregor’s conversion levelling matters at 7-all. With Runrig’s version of Loch Lomond blasting through the stadium speakers at half-time Scotland made an immediate impact on the restart as Jim Thompson raced away for try number two. As Argentina sought to attack from deep, Struan Dewar seized on a loose ball and then backed himself to step out of a tackle for the Scots third try. More escapology followed as Lee Jones surged up the East Stand touchline for the fourth try and Scotland were home and hosed at 22-7. Earlier in the day the Scots had accounted for Canada, a team who have proved their Nemesis in the past by 26-14.
