Scotland U18 7s squad named for Prague competition
Scotland Women U18 7s Head Coach, Gordon Lyon, has named his squad for this weekend’s Rugby Europe U18 7s Girls Championship event in Prague (15 and 16 July).
The tournament will feature nine teams from across the continent, with Scotland drawn in Pool A alongside Ukraine and France.
Scotland’s first match of the day will see the side face Ukraine (9.22am BST), before taking on France (12.44pm BST) later in the afternoon.
Stirling County duo Lucy MacRae, Niamh Robertson-Jack and Garioch’s Megan Hyland featured in the tournament last year, with MacRae being named as captain for this weekend’s event.
Speaking of his selection, Lyon said: “I’m really excited by this squad. There is a balance to the squad with those that experienced last year’s tournament, along with some new faces that emerged from the trial day.”
“The players have been training hard and adapting to the 7s’ style of play. They are now ready to implement that along with bundles of skill and creativity.
“We couldn’t have prepared as well for this without the nine other players that made up the training squad so we are grateful for their efforts and commitment to recent sessions.”
All the action across this weekend’s event will be broadcast live on Rugby Europe TV.
